Biography
Riccardo Gasco is an International Relations doctoral student at the
University of Bologna. He is currently a Visiting Research Fellow at the Istanbul Policy Center (IPC) in Istanbul, working on Turkish Foreign Policy under the esteemed supervision of Professor Senem Aydın-Düzgit. Previously he was a Visiting Research Fellow at Sabanci University.
He holds a background in International Relations and Diplomatic Sciences, which he obtained from the University of Genoa and the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. His research focuses on Turkey’s foreign policy, the Middle East, and Turkey’s ties with NATO and Russia, examining the foreign policy behavior of emerging middle powers with Turkey as a case study. He has published on Turkish foreign policy, including Turkey-China relations, domestic politics, the Kurdish issue, and Turkey’s relations with Europe, the Middle East, and Transatlantic relations. Alongside his research endeavours, Riccardo is also the Foreign Policy Program Coordinator at
IstanPol, a Think Tank based in Istanbul.
